Originally called "singing mother," a Storyteller is a clay figurine made by the Pueblo Tribes of New Mexico. Carol Lucero Gachupin is the daughter of Jemez Pueblo potter Margaret Lucero. She uses traditional pueblo pottery methods, making her own natural clay and pigments. Carol is well known for her detailed painting of her storytellers.
