Stones are inlaid over a Spiny Oyster Shell and include Turquoise, Pipestone, Spiny Oyster, Lapis, Mother of Pearl, and Jet. Design is accented with brass bars.
Warren Nieto and Oneida Caté are from Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo in New Mexico. Warren and Oneida's jewelry pieces are unique and consist of both traditional and contemporary designs and styles. From Warren " I relate all our pieces to our emergence stories, migration stories and modern Pueblo history. We call our jewelry “Kiva Steps” and it means whether your steps be from the pit house kivas, or to modern day kivas, all have same meanings of the steps one takes in life. All stones and beads are hand cut.
