Native American Basket-Papago / Tohono O’odham basket tray made from Beargrass, Devil's Claw and Soaptree Yucca. Three color traditional style split stitch coil basket. Basket tray has a Turtle design symbolizing good health and long life.
The Tohono O'odham are natives of the Sonoran desert in southern Arizona and northern Mexico and are known for their excellent basket making skills. The Tohono O'odham are also known as the Papago.
