The Clown has a ceremonial role, giving wisdom and advice as well as poking fun at unacceptable behavior. Generally amusing, the clown is said to be a glutton, always overdoing it when trying to get the children to behave, making fun of the dancers, or commenting on Hopi behavior.
Richard Gorman was born in Arizona in 1962 and is affiliated with the Hopi tribe of his mother, Clara Pahuma. He is a self taught, award winning artist who is well known for his paintings and Kachina carvings.
Collector card included.
